One Tree Hill Season 5 Premiere Set for Jan. 8

For fans who have waited long for their favorite series to return, mark your calendars for One Tree Hill will be coming back to our television sets on Tuesday, January 8, 2008. Fans will get to see familiar faces on their favorite show, which will have a two-hour premiere episode before they get regularized on the 9pm timeslot, after the encore episodes of Crowned, the new mother-daughter beauty pageant reality series.

The fifth season, as everyone probably knows by now, is a jump four years into the future, thus featuring the characters as post-college individuals going into the real world. Of course, the producers promised to provide us viewers with enough flashbacks to fill the blanks and figure out what happened within those four years.

To get the hype going, the CW already released special clip packages focusing on the different main stars, explaining where their character will be starting off at the beginning of season 5. So far, they've shown Brooke Davis (Sophia Bush) and Lucas Scott ( Murray ), but fans need not worry as the others are soon to follow, with installments every Wednesday.

Clips aren't the only thing to keep fans busy as the fourth season DVD is set for release on December 18, giving fans around three weeks to recap the past season before getting hold of the fifth and upcoming installment.

As for guest stars on season 5 of One Tree Hill, you can count on Kevin Federline to be there. Yes, you all heard it right. The aspiring rap artist and actor is finally getting a spot on a regular series after his stint on Britney and Kevin: Chaotic.

One Tree Hill will be taking Reaper's timeslot, but fans need not worry as the CW promises that Reaper will be back at some point. Due to the writers' strike, the show was slated to air reruns, but will return depending on when the strike will be resolved.
